Who's who - The TLC Project Management Team

Picture of Jenny Anderson, Project DirectorJenny Anderson - Role: Project Director - Southampton Solent University

Jenny is the Director of this project. She has taught for twenty five years, in school, FE and HE but most of it in higher education teaching students on outdoor adventure and waterbased recreation courses. She is interested in assessment, dyslexia and staff development.

She is also Head of Leisure, Marketing and Languages at Southampton Solent University with 1200 students on a range of undergraduate and masters courses including sport, tourism, health and fitness and outdoor recreation. She has been led many consultancies focussing on sport, young people and volunteering for organisations such as the Royal Yachting Association, the Amateur Rowing Association, adventure tourism operators and local authorities.

Liam is an experienced learning and teaching practitioner who fervently believes that a
university's moral purpose is to provide equality of opportunity and transformational learning.


Caroline Jackson  - Role: Partner and Buddy - Bournemouth University

Caroline Jackson is a partner in the TLC project as Senior Lecturer in the School of Services Management, Bournemouth University. She is Programmer Leader for the BA (Hons) and MSc Events Management courses. She has published and presented articles on teaching, learning and assessment. She was awarded a Learning and Teaching Fellowship by Bournemouth University 2005-6 on the basis of her work on live student events and the use of e-learning. She is Secretary of the Association for Events Management Education and a member of the Institute of Leisure & Amenity Management Professional Development Board and South West Executive.

Lyn is a principal lecturer for Staff Development in Learning and Teaching at Oxford Brookes University.  She is also Tourism Liaison Officer for the HE Academy subject network for Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism, Vice-Chair of the Association for Tourism in Higher Education and a University Teaching Fellow researching academic achievement of students with disabilities.  She has 18 years teaching experience and maintains her industrial links through her Directorship of Tourism South East and as Chair of the sub-regional committee for Berks, Bucks and Oxon.

Alison has a background of working within educational settings and managing projects.  For the past 2 years this has involved managing the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey at Southampton Solent University.  She is currently researching into the student volunteering experience at Southampton Solent University as part of a Masters in Education.
